The jersey has some dirt on the lower hem, but I see no indication that it got any game time. There appears to be no sign of it having a nameplate either. It could be from a player that was cut or it may never have gone to any player and just been an extra.
Regardless, it's a great example from an important year/tournament in USA Hockey history. While these jerseys were in use, Herb Brooks became the coach, Jim Craig took the goal, and Craig Patrick became Herb's trusted lieutenant.
Even without any use, I love the shirt. I prefer the blue over white, and I like the goofy construction (light mesh body/heavy double polyester stripes/heavy rubber screened-on seldom-used USA logo...just a bizarre and dated combination). I can also appreciate that the number is the same as what Dave Christian wore in 1980. It definitely was not worn by Dave, though; I checked with him to see if he played any games with them, but he was playing with the Warroad Lakers that entire year.
