Dustin only played 8 games with the Wheaties in 2002-03 before he was traded to the Prince George Cougars. For that reason, this shirt predictably shows relatively light wear. The fact that Dustin spent no time with the Roseau Rams varsity team, instead opting to play Canadian junior hockey with the club that had drafted him (the CHL club by far closest to his hometown Roseau), makes this the closest equivalent, for me, to a Roseau Rams High School jersey.
This is a regionally-important jersey from the formative years of one of Roseau's most successful hockey children; one of only two to have brought home a Stanley Cup. The fact that Dustin also went on to star at the end of his career for the the NHL club located closest to Roseau, the Winnipeg Jets, seems to make this an even more important piece in the local sense.
